I made this platform out of 8' landscape timbers and rebar. It is filled with crushed limestone as a solid base and a layer of fine gravel on top to dampen vibrations. It seems to work.

Celestron 9.25 carbon fiber tube reduced to f/6.3 (1480mm focal length).

This scope is very good and delivers nice contrast and definition. It has a feathertouch focuser.
