Hickson Compact Group 59 in Leo
Hickson Compact Group (HCG) 59, about 180 million light-years away in the constellation Leo, consists of a variety of galaxies. There are three main galaxies, two are star-forming.
The main galaxies are two large spirals, one face-on with smooth arms and central dust lanes, the other nearly edge on. The third is a disordered galaxy full of young blue stars.
